The event took place at the premises of CONCEXEC, leader of the CircularBuild Project, supported by the EEA Grants, with the opening session having the intervention of Dr. Susana Escária (General Secretary for the Environment) and Prof.º Victor Ferreira (Cluster Sustainable Habitat), addressing, among other aspects, the role of the EEA Grants and the Environment Programme.
Architect Jaime Silva (CONCEXEC – Arquitectura, Lda.), addressed the scope of the CircularBuild Project, with Eng.º Armando Pinto (LNEC – Lisbon National Civil Engineering Laboratory) presenting the technical characteristics of the CircularBuild constructive system and its validation resulting from the tests performed. Regarding the Norwegian laboratory RISE, the work carried out in the evaluation of the fire behavior of the CircularBuild constructive system, through the fire resistance test, was discussed.
The intervention of the various speakers culminated in the presentation of the thematic challenges of circularity that prefabrication and resource efficiency bring, through Prof.º Victor Ferreira on behalf of the Sustainable Habitat Cluster, as a partner of the CircularBuild Project.
The session ended with the intervention of Mr. Mayor of Oliveira de Azeméis, Eng.º Joaquim Jorge, through the strategic framework of the municipality and companies, in the valorization of the Municipality.
The event ended with a visit to the prototype built that is located at the CONCEXEC facilities and with a moment of networking between the project partners and the other participants.
